With over 500 dinner parties, the WDP has been getting the whole community together with all the international student, asylum seeker and migrants sharing life experience over few bites. Being a migrant can be stressful quite a lot of times and non-profit like The Welcome Dinner Project helps in making new friends and families.

Rhenette Cabanero, University of Melbourne student says “I am grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our city’s cultural diversity by sharing our food and experiences. This is truly special and unique because there aren’t many events that bring people from different walks of life together to enjoy a meal. Such activities are particularly important to newly arrived residents and international students because they allow us to share our cultures and promote understanding between the different communities”

The gatherings have brought together Australian and Migrants into a believed spot like open space, home. Over these supper tables the awkwardness between the outsiders have been disappeared and everybody leaves being steady and companions.

Everybody is welcome for the occasion and can enlist online to go to the occasion or work as a volunteer to help the development.

The Welcome Dinner Project will have the greatest easter lunch at Docklands Library on 27 April 2019 from 12-12:30 PM for all the International Students, register here.
